Welcome to Dianna's webpage.

It has been provided to keep friends and family updated on her life with Fanconi anemia (FA).

Dianna was diagnosed with FA in April 1998.

FA causes aplastic anemia (bone marrow failure), as well as many different types of cancers.

She had a few of the obvious signs of FA: missing both thumbs, deaf in her right ear, very small for her age, and had corrective surgery at birth on her intestines.

Dianna had a sibling donor bone marrow transplant at Medical City Dallas, TX.

August 2005

Monday, August 22, 2005 10:15 PM CDT

Today Dianna had an appointment with her Hematologist.
Her platlet counts had dropped from 90 to 79.
The doctor said to watch her for brusing and/or bleeding that did not stop quickly.
He also said for her to be careful on the playground at school. (Easier said than done! Dianna is not afraid to try anything.)

We are trying to get ready for school & our trip to Camp Sunshine.
School starts on Thursday, Aug. 11th. Then we leave for Camp Sunshine that afternoon. So Dianna will go to school the first day, but miss the second and third days of school.
(I do not think she minds!) Dianna is very excited about starting school & getting to go back to Camp.
She had a wonderful time last year.

I have added new pictures from our "Make-A-Wish" Trip to Flordia.
