We received fairly good news on part of the kidney biopsy...
The kidney specialist said that the test showed that her kidneys were being poisoned by a medication that she was taking; BUT that stopping the medication now should let her kidneys heal. :-)
It could take a while for the kidneys to heal, but at least it is correctable. :-)
*I am glad that we did the biopsy!*
We still have one more report/test from the biopsy, but it may take another week to get the results.
Welcome to Dianna's webpage.
It has been provided to keep friends and family updated on her life with Fanconi anemia (FA).
Dianna was diagnosed with FA in April 1998.
FA causes aplastic anemia (bone marrow failure), as well as many different types of cancers.
She had a few of the obvious signs of FA: missing both thumbs, deaf in her right ear, very small for her age, and had corrective surgery at birth on her intestines.
Dianna had a sibling donor bone marrow transplant at Medical City Dallas, TX.
Transplant date: October 1, 2008
Dianna went to heaven September 1, 2009

So far good news! We are going to keep praying specifically for good news from the kidney biopsy and for God to reveal the answers to the doctors questions so you can come home. Keep working hard and we will keep praying on this side.
Love you,
Kevin, Brenda, Dusty and JP Latham
Hello Nanette,
that is wonderful news! Praise God!
Love Charisse
Thank goodness! I'm so glad they figured out what is causing it. Remember the name of the medication just in case we have a similar problem if we transplant:-) I wonder if it's the cause of many kidney issues during tranpslant for FA kids?
Dianna,
It is so good to be hearing positive news everyday. I'm excited that you are talking and walking around the hospital. Keep up the good work. Love Toni Smith
I am so happy that you guys found an answer to what was causing the kidney problems. I am very happy that it is correctable. Everyone I know will keep on praying for the next test result to come in with good news. WOW Dianna, you have come so far! You are doing an awesome job and are on your way home soon, I know that you have heard it before, but I do believe that you will be better sooner than anyone thinks, because you are so strong! Keep your chin up and smile :)
Hugs,
Sarah
