Welcome to Dianna's webpage.

It has been provided to keep friends and family updated on her life with Fanconi anemia (FA).

Dianna was diagnosed with FA in April 1998.

FA causes aplastic anemia (bone marrow failure), as well as many different types of cancers.

She had a few of the obvious signs of FA: missing both thumbs, deaf in her right ear, very small for her age, and had corrective surgery at birth on her intestines.

Dianna had a sibling donor bone marrow transplant at Medical City Dallas, TX.

Transplant date: October 1, 2008

Day + 117 (Total # of days in the hospital= 126)

Dianna is STILL in the hospital! :-(
The doctors have not found what caused the fever.
But her stomach is still cramping...
AND now her blood work shows that her kidneys are getting worse. :-(
Today- she had a sonogram and several other tests to check her kidneys.
The doctor talked to me today about possible doing a biopsy on Dianna's kidneys and stomach.
He is waiting on the tests results from today to make the final decision.
PRAY that Dianna's kidney and stomach will heal without having the biopsy!
And that Dianna will get to go home SOON!!!

Dianna,
I and everyone I know will be praying for you to heal without the biopsy. I am so sorry that you are going through this, but you are such a strong willed person and you can defeat this. Please tell your mom to let me know if there is anything you need to help you get through this. Keep reminding yourself of how far you have come and that you are a strong girl.
Hugs to you and your family
Sarah

Dianna, I am sorry to see that you haven't "busted out of that joint" yet but know you are working as hard as you can. School is closed today because of the icy weather so that means I get to clean my house..:( The kids at school are busy getting ready to take the TAKS test soon. You have had enough of the doctor tests,so no need for you to worry about the teacher tests!!! I am excited to soon read the note from your mother that says, "Taking Dianna home today." We all miss you and will see you soon, Mrs. Alexander
