Welcome to Dianna's webpage.

It has been provided to keep friends and family updated on her life with Fanconi anemia (FA).

Dianna was diagnosed with FA in April 1998.

FA causes aplastic anemia (bone marrow failure), as well as many different types of cancers.

She had a few of the obvious signs of FA: missing both thumbs, deaf in her right ear, very small for her age, and had corrective surgery at birth on her intestines.

Dianna had a sibling donor bone marrow transplant at Medical City Dallas, TX.

Transplant date: October 1, 2008

FRIDAY:
The steroids seemed to help with fever.
This morning Dianna had to take the Probencid again before the Cidofovir.
Dianna is sick at her stomach all day. :-(
The afternoon Dianna began to bleed at the sight where the Central Line was removed from her chest.
During the evening it got heavier- the bleeding was so heavy that her bed and gown had to be changed twice.
The doctor said that if the bleeding did not stop that she would need to go back to surgery to reclose the wound.
But, thankfully it finally stopped bleeding!
SATURDAY:
Today was a much better day...
Dianna was able to eat and keep it down today. :-)
She also got up to walk around the nurse's station.
But, her blood pressure did get very high today (because she is back on the steroids again). :-(
SUNDAY:
Again another good day...
Dianna was able to eat and walk. :-)
She is still having the high blood pressure. :-(
Tomorrow Dianna must begin taking the Probenecid and Cidofovir again.
**Pray that she does not get sick at her stomach AGAIN.**

I just want to say Phooey! Stinky chemo. But, although it is stinky it sounds like it might be working! Yeah, we will pray that it works and that you only need one round of the treatments and that God continues to heal you and strengthen you. We are praying that mommy also gets enough rest and is able to hold up...hospitals are no fun to be at especially long term. We LOVE all of you and hold you close in prayer daily.

Well, you have had some tough days. Yuk! So glad you can try to eat something again and that you are feeling some better. Just wanted to say hi. I think and pray for you guys daily. I am sure that you are getting tired of that hospital, I would be. but then I think, there are lots of wonderful people there caring for you and I feel better. God bless them and God Bless you. Dianna,

I know it is a slow go but it sounds like things are getting better. We have been praying specifically for the infections to go away. We will add no more tummy aches to the list. We love you! Tell your mom, we have a contract on the house.

Dianna, I've been praying and praying and praying that the infections will go away and that your stomach won't hurt. I've been thinking about you today and wondering how things are going? I want to get back up there to see you but I've had a crummy cough and I don't want to bring any infections in with me! I love you and will keep praying!
